Black Population Loss
Drawing on Census Data, UT’s Institute for Urban Policy Research & Analysis (IUPRA) released an issue brief entitled "Outlier: the Case of Austin's Declining African-American Population."
The brief reveals that Austin, with a 20.4% growth rate between 2000 and 2010, was the only major growing city in the country to experience an absolute numerical decline in its African-American population between 2000 and 2010.
